How To Treat Shoulder Pain?

Yes, I m 61 yrs old and very active but Sunday I started having a severe painful shoulder.It knoted up about a quarter size. It is my left shoulder. The knot was inner front near top.It is ver sensitive to touch it. The knot went away but shoulder area is still swollen some.Took ibeprophin Monday and it helped. I ve been icing and heating area. What do u think it is?

After going through your query I concluded that you may be having tendinitis of your shoulder tendon specially of long head of biceps tendon. Icing is helpful. Rest is advisable.
