How To Treat Severe Knee Pain Caused By Suspected Osteoarthritis?

Hi, My mother has recently had some knee pain. After that she has been facing lot of difficulty in walking. One doctor has mentioned that she is suffering from osteoarthritis. She has been going for physiotherapy sessions but of no use. What should we be doing now?

osteoarthritis is age related problem and it is very difficult to treat . According to severity of the disease there are following treatment.
1. Analgesics like etoricoxib
2.Hot water fomentation
3.Avoid squatting, sitting cross leg or using stairs
4.Volteran ointment
5.Physiotherapy like static quadriceps .
6. steroid injection in the knee
7.If all above measures fails then she will need knee replacement surgery.
