How To Treat Rash On The Skin Of Testicle?

Hi Dr Andrew My husband has had a rash for over 6 months that comes and goes but is constant on the skin of his ball sacks. He has been to see a skin specialist who has advised him to take Zyrtec and put cream on the affected areas which seems to work sometimes, he has also done a blood test for allergies that came back saying he was not allergic to anything. We have been to see a number of dr s but are not any closer to an answer, and the rash is still there. Can you HELP??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, I really appreciate your concern. From the description of symptoms i think your husband is suffering from cholinergic urticaria. It can be provoked by physical exertion and heat. It's treatment depends upon the severity of rash. For mild rash cetrizine (Zyrtec) or levocetrizine would suffice. For more severe symptoms, monterlukast with cetrizine can be tried. It is very effective in controlling rash due to cholinergic urticaria.
Hope my answer has solved your query. Take Care.
Thank you.
