How To Treat Post Concussion Symptoms?

After getting hit in the head by a crow bar on a job site, I began to experience the symptoms of a concussion. It is now day three and I feel terrible. There is a horrible black eye and a warmth on the side of my head that was hit. What could the warmth be caused by and is internal bleeding an option?

Hello!
I read your question and understand your concern.
Your symptoms are common after a head concussion. These symptoms are caused by a temporary brain dysfunction due to the head trauma, and the temporary loss of the brain ability to auto regulate its function .
The warmth on the side of your head may be related to the edema of the muscles and the soft tissues of this region. The brain does not hurt.
I would recommend some pain killers for some days and a lot of rest. You should avoid straining physical activity for some days.
If the situation gets worse , instead of improving, and you may feel confuse or numbness on your limbs or gait problems, I would recommend to go to the emergency room and have a brain CT scan to exclude a possible intracranial hemorrhage.
Hope to have been of help!
Best wishes!
