How To Treat Obstetric Cholestasis During Early Term Of Pregnancy?

I am currently 36 weeks pregnant and just found out I have obstetric cholestasis . This is my second pregnancy, I was diagnosed with this in my first pregnancy at 38 weeks my dr. At the time did not fool around and scheduled for me to be induced that night. The dr. And hospital , both different this time around , are just monitoring me once weekly and taking blood once a week. I am no doctor but I am very anxious regarding the harm this could potentially do to my child. Should I be requesting to be induced ???

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your pregnancy in 36 weeks and have obstructive cholestasis, this is known to have occurred in last pregnancy also.
Obstructive Cholestasis is not an uncommon thing to occur and you have rightly pointed that this may be one of the indications of inducing labor at the correct time.
Induction of labor depends upon many a factors. HT level of your liver function tests, the development of the baby and so on.
Yes, you can surely discuss this issue with your Doctors very frankly since you have gone through it and can go ahead as they say, as they will have proper reasoning of induction now or a bit later. You must already be under treatment with Vitamin K and so.
