Hello, My scalp feels itchy all the time and white (yellowish), and a bit oily cells come out in my nails when I each. A friend told me it might be dandruff related. So I tried Head and Shoulders shampoo/conditioner for Itchy scalp but it only makes my hair dry and doesnt stop the itchiness. Also my hair has always been somewhat fragile as they fall a lot when i comb and shower (depending on the season etc more or less loss) but its never been too much problem since I have a lot and big hair. What do you suggest about the itchiness (and maybe the hair loss?)
Hi Andrea.
I would suggest using TRIATOP shampoo twice a week (leave it on for 10 mins).
ALso apply candid-B lotion once a week overnight. See a dermatologist near you for an accurate diagnosis.
Hi Andrea, Welcome to HealthcareMagic!
Symptoms you have described seem not due to simple dandruff (pityriasis capitis). In dandruff, flakes are white-grey & there is minimal itching; it usually resolves by OTC antidandruff shampoos (like head & shoulders). Probably you suffer from seborroehic dermatitis or scalp psoriasis. A dermatological consultation will be useful for you. Still you may try Ketoconazole 1% shampoo (available OTC) 4-5 times a week. It may also help in hair loss. Please let me know the results in say 2 weeks.
Good luck.
