How To Treat Itchiness And Burning Sensation In Vagina?

Hi, for the past week or so my vagina has been hurting when and when not attempting to have sex. Kinda like a burning sensation. It would burn when I would urinate but only if the urine trickled down. I looked at it and there seems to be cracks going down the sides of my vagina... Also redness, and now it is become very itchy... I don t know what to do.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
I understand your concern.
You seem to have fungal infection of vagina.
Mostly it is treated by Tab. Metranidazole 400mg twice a day, Flucanazole vaginal pessaries & ointment for local use.. The treatment is given to both sex partners for 5 -7 days.Sex is to be avoided till complete relief.
The condition may get chronic if not cared for. sometimes repeted courses are needed.
Consult a gynecologist, get examined / get investigated if advised( vaginal swab test)& start with the treatment as per the dosage advised. You will be alright. please don't worry.
Thanks.
