I got stung by a yellow jacket in between my pointer finger and middle finger at 3:10 it is now a half hour later and my hand and whole arm are swollen and in pain and I am also starting to feel my throat close, should i be concerned or is this normal?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your complain the symptoms of pain and welling in hand along with feeling of throat closing seems to be due to severe allergic reaction to the toxin present in the sting.. You should immediately consult an Emergency room and get evaluated and he can do a thorough clinical evaluation and get evaluated and they can give you injectable anti-allergics like benadryl or phenargan shot along with steroid shots to reduce the allergy symptoms soon.. Intravenous fluids can also be administered.. Once the swelling and choking relieves you will be advised to to take oral anti-allergics and painkillers for complete resolution..
Hope this information helps..
