How To Treat Infected Sores In A Heroine Addict?

My 19yo daughter is no longer covered by our health insurance, and has been living on/off the streets with drug use. She is home now, supposedly NOT using, but she does have the residual sores on her body of methamphetamine use (she has also been addicted to heroin). She has pitting edema in her legs below her knees. She s been home with us since she got out of jail for a possession charge, and is on Prop 36 (????) I m just concerned with getting her to a Dr. who will see her with no health coverage. The sores are infected, I m afraid they may be staff, maybe even MRSA!

dear,
As I can figure out by your history, your daughter is having
1) heroin and amphetamine addiction
2) Infection(skin)
3) a highly possible underlying infective problem due to her risky behaviour

For her drug abuse she has to be put into a rehab facility. A must.
Skin infections can be managed using high antibiotics and topical anti biotic ointments. Although a consultation to a dermatologist is must, as a proper examination is warranted here.
Get screeing for std, HIV and hepatitis done, as such problems are common in high risk drug abusers esp who take drugs via intravenous injections.

thank you.
