How To Treat Hives Post Laparoscopic Umbilical Hernia Surgery?

I recently had laprascopic umbilical hernia surgery , two days after my surgery I noticed hives appearing around the plastic bandage around my belly button today it s seems to spread to a good area around my stomach , I ve started to take benedryl and cortisone cream and was wondering if there is a better way to treat the hives

Hello.

The first thing would be to find the cause for the hives. Look if you are using some medications that could have caused the reaction, if the hives are due to any medication then discontinuation of that medication will help in resolution of the hives. Advising a blood panel to find the cause so treatment would be made easier.
