How To Treat Hearing Loss And Ringing Following A Bout Of Cold?
After a cold I lost hearing in both my ears. My right ear gets quite numb, painful, ringing. I've done an MRI scan.. there was nothing wrong. When I'm around a lot of people my ears get painful which leads to a headache. I've also taken ear drops for Tinnitus. Any information would be useful.. Cheers
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have hearing loss and ringing following a bout of cold. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but it seems to me that the symptoms occur probably due to following reasons :-
- Firstly there can be chance that you have punctured your eardrum.
- Secondly there is very severe infection in your ear .
I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist again for proper examination . Doctor may order certain tests like CT scan and examine ear with otoscope . Doctor may prescribe stronger antibiotics at least or 10 days along with anti inflammatory , anti allergic and analgesic . Doctor may also recommend you patching of eardrum , tympanoplasty or hearing aid .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
