Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of swallowing chicken cartilage or a small bone at dinner which now feels like stuck in the esophagus, there is spasm like pain and wants to know what can be done.
First of all go to the nearest hospital or ER as the system may be so that an X-ray can be done to ascertain whether there is bone or not, cartilage may be seen as the X-ray technology is advanced now.
Stop taking anything orally so that an upper GI Endoscopy can be done to ascertain the diagnosis whether a stuck bone or cartilage or severe esophagitis that is causing the symptoms and it can be removed at the same time if found.
If there is an esophagitis only, further management has to be done accordingly with a PPI, Domperidone and an antacid.
