My son is 12 and have been having dizziness for about a week. Went to dr yesterday did blood work and it came back normal dr says virus of some sort give it a week and then if still dizzy do a stress test. Any other reasons that you can give or solutions to help him feel better?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Acute dizziness can be due to viral infection. The bloods may have checked for other possible causes such as electrolyte disturbance , dehydration or anemia.

The stress test would be to check the heart if the symptoms continue to rule this out as a cause.

If his symptoms are related to the inner ear condition BPPV, then doing the Epley maneuver would help.

There are also medications such as benadryl , that may be able to help.

I hope this helps
