How To Treat Discolored Nail?

i have discoloration adn what seemed like infection in 3/4 of the nail on my ring finger. It seems that the nail is separated from the nail bed going down the center. Got an ointment from the doctor that seemed to stop pain and slow infection but nail is still discolored and seem to get bad when i remain long in the water. What is problem and solution?

Thanks for the query,
You might have developed fungal infection.
Treatment can be with oral antifungals as well as with topical antifungals.
Treatment must be continued for at least 6 months to prevent recurrance.
Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.
