How To Treat Diabetes During Pregnancy?

I'm 24 weeks pregnant. Took my Glucola 1 hr test yesterday, said I had a result of 139....now they want to do a 3 hr test tomorrow. I'm worried and scared. I haven't been told I'm overweight, and haven't had history of diabetes. What should I do? Have I done something wrong, and if I am diabetic, will this last?

Welcome to HealthcareMagic,
Your 1 hr glucose test gave a reading of 139 mg/dl. This is a high value and hence you need to do a 3 hr glucose test which is a superior and accurate test to know if you are diabetic or not. If the 3 hr glucose test comes as abnormal then you have gestational diabetics mellitus. Do not worry as you can start the diabetic medication and if you take it regularly then your baby will be safe and you can deliver normally. Hope that answers your question.
Regards, Dr.Imaad.
