Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello thanks for asking from HCM

The symptoms you have mentioned like mood swings, changed beliefs, lack of interest in anything (anhedonia), forgetfulness and suicidal thoughts etc. are symptoms of depressive illness. Restlessness, racing thoughts, palpitations are occurring due to anxiety only. As you have suicidal ideation so I would advise you to visit a psychiatrist as soon as you can. Suicidal ideation should never be ignored. Patients with suicidal thoughts are classified in severe depression. Medicines like SSRIs as fluoxetine, sertraline, escitalopram etc are commonly used in depression. In some patients with recurring suicidal thoughts ECT or electro convulsive therapy is treatment of choice.

Apart from this I will also advise you to attend cognitive therapy sessions to improve your faulty thoughts and cognitions. This will help in early response to medicines.

Thanks, hope this helps you.
