How To Treat Cough And Fever In A Baby?

Hi, i am a new mom and my 4 month old daughter had developed a dry heavy cough. And she is coughing all the time. And now she has had a fever all day that has kept breaking then coming back. And she has a hearing disability so she has a hearing aid. And today along with her horrible cough and fever, she would start crying in the car as we were on our way to the store... But she would only cry when we had to drive up hill. What do you think i should do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
I had gone through your query and understand your concern.

Presence of fever and cough is suggestive of respiratory tract infection. She needs to be treated with antibiotics and anti - pyretic medication.

I suggest you to consult a paediatrician as soon as possible.

Hope this helps

If you have any other queries, feel free to ask.
