How To Treat Constipation?

I have not had a bowel movement in a week. I went to a gastroligist he sent me to the emergency room they did a cat scan and said I have no blockage and sent me home with a laxative. I still have had no bowel movement. I have a severe headache Is there another test at the er they can do besides the ct scan.
