General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
It seems that due to spasmodic cough there might be having strain and pull of inter-costal muscles giving this problem.
There is another possibility of having some infection in lining of lungas called pleura giving this problem.
Take some analgesic, muscle relaxant medicine for 2-3 days.
If problem persisted then go for x-ray chest to rule out pleuritic pain.
Ok and take care.
