Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
In my opinion your wife does not seem to have any major disease for early morning breathlessness.
But I still advice to consult pulmonologist and get done PFT (pulmonary function test) to rule out bronchitis, asthma etc.
If PFT is normal than mostly your wife is having stress related suffocation and shortness of breath. She is also having tension at home , this also favours possibility of stress related shortness of breath more.
So ask her to avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm.
Consult psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions to identify stressor in her life and start working out solution for the same.
Don't worry, she will be alright.
