How To Treat Blood Clots And Swelling In Leg Due To A Injury?
I fell and hit my right shin about 3 months ago. About a month later I went for xrays and ultrasound because I was concered about a break or blood clots as my entire leg and foot was purple. All was clear. Now, 3 months later, I still have a bruise where it hit and some swelling. Should I be concerned or is it possibly just a bone bruise?
I have studied your case and I think that you are right in thinking that your swelling is bone bruise. It is also collection of blood in subcutaneous tissue. I would suggest you following. 1. Hot water fomentation 2. Antibiotics needs to be taken. You can discuss those medicines from your doctor. 3. Compression bandage to leg. 4. If still swelling is not getting reduced than you should get a MRI to see if there is stress fracture. If yes than you might need to do bed rest and avoid running or prolong standing. I hope this answer will be useful. Let me know if there is any other followup questions. Thanks
