How To Treat An Eye Gone Red Due To Poking?
My dad, 85 takes warfarin - he said he accidentally poked his eye - he cant tell us when. the whites of his eye is not bright red - its RUBY red and looks very watery but not leaking. He also has a black eye recently with same eye. I am caregiver and noticed eye on monday. Mom 84 - last stages of dementia, very mean. she may have hit him - Our medicare nursing coming over today. His stool is good and no bleeding in stool. Dad wouldnt tell us if mom hit him or not he is blaming on himself and thinks he poked his eye sometime when sleeping.

It seems from the history that your dad following a poking injury is having black eye and redness of eyes.
This is because of collection of blood in the layers of the skin of eyelids and under conjunctiva leading to ecchymosis of eye lids and ecchymosis of conjunctiva (Subconjunctival hemorrhage)
These two conditions are usually self resolving and may not require treatment other than use of cold compression and analgesic drugs.
However he requires examination to rule out injury to eye itself and to other parts as he is on warfarin which will increase the bleeding tendency following injuries.
