How To Treat Acute Prostatitis?
Dear Dr. I am suffering from acute prostatitis for last one year and have been taking Septran DS intially 1BD and now 1 OD. I am also taking Flotral 1 OD at bed time. Recently I stopped Septran DS to see if the problem still persists. But after 3-4 days the symptoms reappeared and I started with Septran DS again. It seems I have to take these medicines life long. My question is : Is there any harm of taking Septran DS and flotral each one daily for such a long time? Is there any other permanent cure available. Thanks. I await ur reply sir.

can you please tell me if a semen culture with antibiotic sensitivity done before the course of antibiotic was started.
was the organism identified and sensitivity known
if not the situation is quite tricky now because culture may not reveal any thing.
my suggestion to you will be to first get a semen culture, gram staining , and routien examination done.
ant try another antibiotic in the hope it eradicates the infection.
