How To Treat A Tooth Abscess?

Hi I believe I have abscessed tooth, the pain is killing me, I looked at the area in the mirror and softly squeezed and watched pus come from the swollen area! This tooth has been hurting for a year now, and I found out today I could die from this! Is pus secretion normal??

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The tooth abscess could be because of the tooth infection. Consult a oral physician and get a radiograph done to rule out from other conditions like granuloma or cyst. Mean while you can take a course of antibiotics like amoxicillin 500mg and metronidazole 400mg tid for 5 days (if you are not allergic). You can take analgesics like diclofenac 50mg bid for 3 days. After completing the course, you can gO for RCT or extraction.
Do saline gargling.
I hope my answer will help you, take care.

hello
Pus secretion is not normal its a sign that u have an infection as u have suggested that its an persistent problem since long time which had lead to formation of abscess it can be either gum related (periodontal) or it can be due to decay of your teeth. Its an emergency situation go and visit dentist as soon as possible either root canal or extraction might be needed depending upon the condition of your teeth and amount of infection. meanwhile you can start a cource of antibiotic amox 500 thrice daily for 15 days and painkilers (ketrol Dt) sos

Hi, welcome to HCM,
as you said that you are having severe pain and pus discharge from the gum area, it is sure that you have infection of your tooth or gum in that particular area you have told.
Pus secretion is not normal, it happens when there is some sort of infection in that area. So you have to start medication for that immediatly like antibiotics and painkillers and meet your dentist immediatly. X-ray in that particular area has to be done and treatment has to be started immediatly. So please visit your dentist immediatly and get it treated.
