I have a large bump far back on my tongue that can t be seen only felt by putting my finger that far back. I ve been on antibiotics and prednisone for it and the pain stopped. Now I m on my last day of the antibiotic and the pain is back. Is this something to be worried about? And why would the pain come back on the last day of my antibiotic? Thank you

Hi.
This is definitely a serious thing as you can feel something at the back of tongue and we have to ascertain that this is not cancer or lingual thyroid or so.
IT is better to get an endoscopy done to see what exactly is the problem. CT scan may help to see that if there are lymph nodes and any other structural problems .
Once the diagnosis is made, the treatment can be guided.
