How To Treat A Lump On The Scrotum?

I'm 19 years old. 6'0, and about 275 pounds. yesterday while urinating i touched the bottom of my penis (where the shaft meets the body) and noticed there is a lump there about the size of a small pea. Now i never really noticed it until yesterday so im not sure how long its been there. i have not yet have sex and my parents do not have any stds. the lump really only hurts when i touch it, saying that i really didnt wanna cut it open. it stands out quite obviusly because its red. i was wondering if you guys know what it is, and if there is anything i can do about it. im not sure if this woulf help but i do work in hot conditions and our pants that they give us are not the best. it gets hot here in illinois and i think the friction and sweat rubbing would make it appear. thanks - adam

Hi I am Dr Fahim, and I will help you with your query

I have gone through your question. It appears to Boil also called furuncle, as you mentioned its location, size and it is red. It is hair follicle infection most commonly by staphylococcus aureus. It gets block, there is accumulation of oil and pus. It is a painful condition but easily treatable. Moreover, unhygienic condition do favor boil formation.
If such a patient walk into my clinic I usually prescribe amoxicillin with clavulanic acid 625mg 8 hourly and paracetamol 500mg 8 houlry. Incision and drainage can be done with regular dressing. Patients respond well to this treatment in a matter of days. wishing rapid recovery

I hope it will help you with your problem. Do rate my answer if you like it.
