My Grandson is 6 years old, he has been admitted to hospital for the last three days for vomiting, not eating, plus he is a juvenile Diabetic they have been treating him with IV an Saline solution(Sugar Water), to bring his sugar back up, but in the process, he still can' keep any solid food down in his stomach so far, but the real kicker here is little brother who is not a diabetic has all of sudden develop the same stomach problems.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If his brother is also vomiting, it is possible that the gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms are related to a viral or bacterial infection of the GI tract.Infections can affect blood sugar readings, normally causing an increase.

High blood sugars can also cause vomiting and abdominal pain.

His reduced oral intake would also affect his blood sugar readings.

The doctors are providing fluids to treat or prevent dehydration due to vomiting and decreased intake. They are likely also continuously monitoring his blood sugars and electrolyte levels.

I hope this helps
