How To Treat A Badly Sprained Feet That Causes Difficulty In Walking?

I fell off 1 step at nite and it was instantly blk and blue and swollen. I went to urgicare and they took 4 xrays and said it was badly sprained,but now it is 4 weeks later and bottom of foot I cannot walk and ankle is still tender. Going to dr. fri. morn for xrays and see what is wrong. What do u think? Been in house 4 weeks and very fed up!

Hi.
I hope you were given a crepe bandage or a plaster cast.
Soft tissues take more time to heal than the bones.
There would have been a tear of the structures around the ankle which needs complete immobilization for them to heal.
I would advise such a patient for an MRI to know the exact extent of the damage and healing process halting and to decide for the need of surgery. This is important as ankle is a weight bearing joint.
