Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am the Senior Care Manager in an Aged Care Facility and I have a number of residents who have chronic UTIs. I m not convinced that continuous antibiotic therapy is useful. I was thinking of introducing Cranberry Juice, however after discussing this with a colleague, I think it might be more beneficial introducing Cranberry in tablet form. Your thoughts please?
Thank you for you query. Its nice to see you caring for your senior residents. Well Cranberry Juice is beneficial in fighting urinary tract infections can help a little bit. If there is an infection ongoing though antibiotics are needed but once the infection subsides Cranberry can help decrease recurrence. Tablets can be easier to implement. good luck.
