Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history about you suffering from diabetes for the last 7 years and have developed diarrhea for the last 2 months which is not getting controlled by medicines. Fasting sugar is in the range of 165 to 175 and have to go for passing motion 4-5 times a day. Feeling very weak.
The most possible reason is uncontrolled diabetes and any infection in the body will not get controlled unless the diabetes is under control.
I would advise you the following in such a situation.
Get the blood tests of: Routine CBC, blood sugar, liver and kidney functions, Thyroid functions as hyperthyroidism can be another reason for persistent diarrhea.
Stool tests for 3 consecutive days.
Blood HbA2c to see the control of last 3 months.
Shift the Insulin injections for control of diabetes.
If the medical management fails to know the problems, further tests of colonoscopy and CT scan may be needed.
If all the investigations are normal, this can be taken as IBS, that is irritable bowel syndrome and get treated accordingly.
