How To Take Care Of A Stroke Patient?

My grandmother had a stroke and will most likely by coming to live with us for recovery. What are the main things we need to focus on? Do we need to get a hospital bed? Our house is sort of small...what kind of machines do you think we're going to have to bring home to keep her happy and healthy?
Right now (the stroke happened Thursday night and it's now Monday night) she is awake and speaking, though her words and garbled unless she forces herself to talk loud. Her spirits are good, but I've had several people say that symptoms will continue to show up for weeks and months afterwards. She is 84...how much recovery can she be expected to make at that age?
Sorry to ask so many questions, but I just don't know what to do. We've got to sell her house, I guess, to afford a lot of this stuff, and with her moving in with us...things are just going to be...different.
Hope that you can help with my rambling questions, I appreciate it!

Hi,Jashua, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
Stroke could be due to the throbmosis, or hemorrhage in the brain tissue, or the scanty blood supply to the brain due to the atherosclerosis.
The recovery comprises the recanalization of the cerebral blood vessels, which are in reserve.
The medicines will help to have the recanalization, and controle the hypertension, if present, and supply the nutrients to the brain, and bringing down the cholesterol.
The task required is the physical exercise to be done to make the limbs to move by them selves, difficult tasks may be done by the physiotherapist.
So don't worry you need not be over enthusiastic , she will be fine soon. If you have time assist her to move her limbs as much of time as possible.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
