How To Split Hydrocortisone And Florinef Dosage?

How cAn I split my daily dose of Addison s disease medication, I am currently taking 20 mg of hydrocortisone in the am and 10 mg at 6 pm. Plus florinef at 6 pm. I am wondering if I lower my morning dose to 15 then 10 at 12:30 and 5 at 6 pm would make a difference.

The 2:1 split between morning and evening of hydrocortisone is ideal. This is because the 2:1 split mimics the natural secretion of hormone in our body. I would recommend my patient to continue with 2:1 split and not to meddle with the ratio or timing. Florinef can be taken as directed by your physician.
Hope the above information helps you. Thanks for writing in Healthcaremagic. Have a wonderful day.
