Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
In January 2012 my wife had a paraesophegeal hernia repair whichbseemed to go terribly wrong. During this surger her spleen was torn loose from her stomach and subsequently removed tp prevent further bleeding. they also removed her gall bladder because of one tiny stone which was causing her no problem. They also attached her stomach to her abdominal wall and reinforced that repair with apeg line. She wa hospitalized for seven days and came home with pneumonia. Post-op day 7 she developed a seroma which we pack multiple times daily and finally closed after 5 weeks. They removed the peg line at 5 weeks and it leaked for 2 weeks forcing her back to bed and back to a very limited diet which slowed her recovery again. AT 5 montha post-op she has a large incisional hernia and we are looking for the best place to have this repaired!
