How To Remove Bruise And Knots In Hip Formed After Hitting Volleyball?

While playing volleyball, my daughter has hit her hip on the floor and it left a pretty good size bruise. This was probably at least 3 weeks ago. Now she has a couple of knots in the same area. Says it hurts at times, but not all the time. Can you give me an answer to what this might be and what should be done.

Hi im dr.hema physiotherapist.

I had gone through the query.

Yes the knots mentioned by you are normal to occur after bruise.

The hard spot is blood outside any blood vessel and is harmless and your daughter body will absorb this slowly over the next few weeks.

When you push , it may move around under the skin and be uncomfortable or painful. These signs and symptoms may be disconcerting, but they are not usually a cause for alarm and reabsorbed by the body without any treatment.

You can apply heat for pain relief and relax the muscles 3 to 4 times a day with gentle massage, if required.

Hope it helps, in doubt do reply.
