Hi,

Thanks for your question on HCM

I do understand your pain and discomforts

As per your clinical history is concerned let me clarify your points step wise-:

1)Take BP medication and reduce salt in diet then after it do some natural remedies like-:

(a) Drink a cup of warm water with the juice from ½ lemon added to it each morning on an empty stomach. For best results, do not add salt or sugar.

(b)Eat 3 raw garlic cloves daily on an empty stomach. Garlic offers blood pressure lowering benefits. It helps relax blood vessels by stimulating the production of citric oxide, which in turn lowers blood pressure, especially systolic blood pressure

(c)Eat one cup of fresh tomatoes daily. You can add them in salads and sandwiches, as well as use them for making sauces and soups. Avoid eating canned tomatoes. Tomatoes contain lycopene and other carotenoids with antioxidant effects that help fight free radicals, lower the risk of heart disease, and reduce high blood pressure.

(d)Celery contains a phytochemical called 3-N-butylphthalide that relaxes the tissues of the artery walls to increase blood flow and reduce blood pressure. In addition, the magnesium and potassium content of celery help regulate your blood pressure. You can eat four celery stalks daily.

2)As per your second question my opinion will be check BP at home and do ECG and ECHO test to ruled out any damage to heart valves.

3)As per Your third question i may say that diet and exercise is good at his age but never stop medication, it is essential as well.

4)You have asked whether high blood pressure cause stroke or not and in my own opinion i may say it is the main cause of both types of stroke, so try to control it as soon as possible.

Hope that helps (Do not stop BP medications)
