How To Rectify The Stitches On Vaginal Region Post Episodomy?
I am 22 yr old will be 23 next week. 5'3.5 and 316 lbs. No serious health issues.I had a baby 4 mo ago. During the delivery the doctor had to preform a episodomy. I of course recieved stiches. My question is that its 4 mo later and I still feel tenderness and pain during sex and it seems to me that he sew me up too much and wrong because my vaginal opening seems a little off from where I remember it beind its more to the left than the center. I just don't know what to do.
Hi, Sometimes, due to excessive wound induration, there can be a narrowing of the vaginal introitus or opening after an episiotomy. It is also possible that tight suturing of the incision can result in a narrowed introitus. Use of enzymes and sitz baths during the healing period help proper healing. Since you are four months post-delivery, you may need an assessment of the situation and surgical correction may be needed, if dilators fail. Please check with a specialist in person for local examination. Take care.
Hello, I have gone through your query and understood the concern. You could be right in guessing a misalignment of the tissues during the perineal repair. Also, sometimes the tissue induration after repair of the episiotomy wound may persist for a longer period, especially with tight suturing. What you need to do in the current scenario is to see a specialist for a local examination and see if you need a proper perineal repair to correct the problem. Proper perineal training also helps along with couple counselling if surgery is deemed not useful or needed. Hope this helps.
