i am currently addicted to fentanyl patches 25 mcg/ day ( smoking them) i know very stupid!!! ... I then went on a methadone program of 25 mg/ day for about 1 week, then went every other day for the following week... i don't think it was a good idea because i am just switching one opiate for another and it is only delaying the withdrawals. What is the best way to beat the withdrawals altogether if possible? any suggestions to ask my family doctor to prescribe me? She already told me she's not an addiction specialist and has no idea what to do besides sending me to detox. Any help would be very much appreciated! Thank you for your time and consideration!

Hello, Thanks for your query. The commonest hurdle that smoker faces when he wants to quit smoking is its withdrawal symptoms. Some times they are too disturbing that a person drops the idea. They are not very serious but can disturb your routine life temporarily. Leisure smoking usually happens on certain occasions, with certain friends that remind you to smoke, just change your schedule for few days to cut down on these smoking leads, and don't carry a cigarette box and change the route on which your Panwalah is awaiting to salute you. These are simple behavioural tips that have worked for so many of my friends and patients! I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care
