How To Quit Alcohol And Nicotine?

Hi Doctor, Of late, my work stress has increased. I have been smoking and drinking a lot of late and I suspect I have hurt my liver. How can I tell if I have a liver problem and what could be the possible remedy. Can a doctor help in detoxification and gradually quitting alcohol and nicotine? Thanks

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Certainly, you seem to have a fair motivational level, and therefore detoxification is very possible. The functioning of liver can be assessed liver function test and investigations. A timely abstience can prevent further damage and worsening. I suggest to see a local psychiatrist for alcohol and nicotine problem.
