How To Prevent Inflammation Of Vein In The Temple?

I HAVE BEEN GETTING REALLY BAD MIGRAINES FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF MONTHS. I GET DIZZY AND NAUSEAS. THE DOCTOR TOLD ME THAT MY VEIN IN MY TEMPLE MAY BE INFLAMMED AND THATS WHATS CAUSING IT. WHY WOULD THAT BE HAPPENING AND IS THERE ANYTHING THAT I CAN DO TO PREVENT IT FROM GETTING INFLAMED?

i believe the condition your doctor may be referring to is temporal arteritis. this condition may occur on it's own, or in associated with polymyalgia rheumatica. If your symptoms are severe, you could consider an oral steroid (like prednisone), which will help with the temporal arteritis. There are many other causes of headache as well, so it is important to know the cause, as the treatment will vary depending on the cause. short term steroid use is ok; long term use may be associated with side effects like increased blood sugar, loss of muscle mass, osteopororis, stomach ulcers.
