HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The intervertebral disc are composed of an outer ring called the annulus fibrosus and an inner aspect called nucleus pulposus. The nucleus is a jelly like substance.

As persons age the intervertebral disc (the discs between the vertebra in the back) can lose fluid and small tears can occur. This can result in protrusion.

The main part of treatment is pain medication and physiotherapy.

Your doctor can refer you to a physiotherapist who can show what exercises would improve your muscle strength.

I hope this helps
