How To Manage Unplanned Pregnancy?
hello doctor
i had sex with my gf using a condom but it ruptured and i immediately replaced it with a new one. now its been 20 days since we had sex and her periods are delayed by almost 10 days now.
usually her periods are delayed by 5-6 days but this time its been longer that that.yesterday she observed a quick abdominal pain but till now no signs of the periods.
for how long can the periods be delayed?? and if she gets pregnant please suggest a way to get rid of it..would abortion pills be the option to choose?

HI,
The pregnancy can be confirmed by blood HCG test, the earliest.
In case it is positive, you can go for medical termination of pregnancy.
Mostly Kit of drugs -
-Mifepristone 200mg. to be followed after 24-48 hours by-
-Misoprostol (800 micro grams ) is offered to patient.- is given which causes spontaneous expeltion of pregnancy.
* the drugs /doses are to be taken under a gynecologist's care-to avoid complications.

The urine pregnancy test done at a Laboratory or at Home will tell whether she is pregnant.
kindly consult a obgyn if she is pregnant as self medicine for abortion is dangerous.
there is risk of ectopic pregnancy also. Medicine tablets can be used for abortion after proper diagnosis and counselling.
