How To Manage Promyelocytic Leukemia?

i am a hospice nurse taking care of a man who has acute promyleocytic leukemia and no longer responding to chemo which was dc'd on friday. he had been on a heparin drip due to clotting from chemo meds and that was dc'd saturday. I do not have a lot of experience with this disease and end of life. wondering what to expect as far as symptoms and best management

Acute promyelocytic leukemia should be treated with retinoic acid. It has excellent prognosis if treatment timely. So consult your doctor and start retinoic acid as early as possible.
