How To Lower Fever In A Child After Vaccination?

Hi, I have a four and a half month old baby. Got his vaccination some yesterday. Gave him his third pentaxim dose. This morning he has 100 fever. Please suggest some syrup. I don t know how and why my doc gave him crophen for fever which I had also given him couple of times earlier when my baby washaving fever. But now I am gaining knowledge thT crophen is contraindicated in children. Not sure what that exactly means but doesn t sound right. Please suggest. Many thanks.

thanks for your query
Vaaccination can sometimes result in fever .(specially DPT),
Usually fever subsides in 24-36 hours or so and a large majoriy of these babies do not require any medication.
If fever is low grade (Less than 100) and your baby is not very uncomfortable avoid any medication ,othewise paracitamol drops (crocin drops 0.75 ml) can be given and if needed can be repeated after 5-6 hours for a day.
Syrup crophen has paracitamol and promethazine.
Promethazie is not recomended below 2 years iof age

Thanks for the query
If your baby is having low grade fever (less than 100 degre) and the baby is otherwise comfortable no medication is required.
In case you find your baby is irritable or her fever is more , crocin/calpol drops 0.75 ml can be given safely and may be repeated after 5 hours if needed.
Crophen has paracitamol (crocin/calpol) and promethazine .
Promethazine is not recomanded in children below the age of 2 years.
