my wife last period date was 01/05/11. But yesterday she had a bleeding from vagina. my wife had 3 misscarriages(3 to 4 month). Today i did a pregcard test in home. i saw that there were one dark red line and other pink. plz tell me is there any problem or my wife become pregnant, with thanks himadri
One dark line and one faint (pink) line as a result of Pregcard test denotes that the test is weak positive. If the test is done too early; i.e. immediately within few days of missing the period, the test may report weak positive.
However, the other possibility is implantation of the pregnancy outside the uterine cavity; most commonly in the tube. This is called as Ectopic pregnancy. Such pregnancy does not grow long and ruptures causing an haemorrhagic emergency requiring emergency surgical intervention with many units of blood transfusion.
Please get ultrasonography done. In ectopic pregnancy, the test results are positive; however no gestational sac is seen in the uterine cavity in ultrasonography images.
Such condition if diagnosed before rupture, can be managed conservatively by Methotrexate. Therefore please report to your Gynaecologist ASAP.
