How To Heal The Heat Rash For A 7 Month Old Child?
My 7 mo old granddaughter has an extremely bad case of heat rash under her neck and in the cracks of her thighs. We have used cornstarch powder, zinx oxided, but she drools constantly and is breast feed and has no neck to speek of. Can we use calamine lotion or aloe to relieve the itching? How can we heal the rash?

Hi,thanks for choosing the forum. You can use calamine lotion as a soothening agent. But the zinc oxide you had already tried is supposed to be good enough as a soothening agent. Check with a pediatrician whether the child is going through an allergic skin rash known as atopic dermatitis or a fungal infection,as the treatment for these conditions are different. Until you reach the doctor, zinc oxide or calamine lotion are safe options to do. Regards,Dr.Pravin Asir.
