How To Heal Red, Swollen Pierced Area Of Ear Which Is Oozing Liquid?

My daughter got her ears pierced 10 weeks ago. Now today, her right ear is red, swollen, and fluid is coming out of ear piercing area. How can we heal this? We have removed the earrings, used rubbing alcohol and hydrogen peroxide on the area. Should we leave the earrings out overnight and see if the redness and swelling goes down by morning? Is it safe to put earrings back in with her ear lobe being red and swollen?

Dermatologist 's  Response
most of the times earrings (artificial) have nickel which causes contact allergic dermatitis , the reason for redness, swelling and oozing fluid. possibilities are superimposed secondary infection also. so she should be given a combination of antibiotic and anti allergic. -- topical cream--mupirocin/fusidic acid -3 times application and tablet fexofendine 120 mg once daily .. -7days
replace the earring with pure metal (gold/silver) earring if you want to retain the piercing,, otherwise it will be closed during healing , and re piercing will be required.
