How To Get Rid Of Swollen Knee Cap?

I fell onto sidewalk on right knee, just to the right of my knee cap Sunday night...I immediately got a pretty good goose egg on it. Iced it that night and took ibuprofen. Next day and every day since, goose egg gone but still have swelling in knee cap. Been icing occasionally but now I have a clicking feeling in it when I walk. Had an xray and they said it looked pretty good .

Hi
Thanks for your query
The most likely cause of the swelling is collection of blood in front of patella in a closed space. If it is not resolved by ice fomentation, ibuprofen then it can be aspirated by a syringe followed by compression bandage. This is an outdoor patient (OPD) procedure can be done at a local doctor clinic.
Take care
