How To Get Rid Of Red And Swollen Toe?

my left next pinky toe has been red and swollen since april last year. I feel pain when touch it. I saw foot Dr. who asked me to take pain med(Ibuprofen) which does not help, because it' s still the same red and swollen toe. It's probably gets bigger. What causes that? I'm 50yrs old and in good health. Please help

I think it may be hair line fracture. So get X ray of your foot first. If x ray is seen then get little toe bandage, take ultracet and avoid putting weight on affected side. your pain will be fine in 2 weeks.
