How To Get Rid Of Potato Chip Stuck In Throat?
I swallowed a kettle cooked potato chip, and it has been stuck all day. It sort of hurts to swallow and is extremely uncomfortable. I ve tried bread and water, but the sensation won t go away. It really feels like it s there, but I cannot afford an ER trip. Especially for something silly like this.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have potato chip stuck in throat which seems to act as foreign body there and can lead to foreign body entrapment. Sometimes there is actually nothing stuck in the throat but you get the feeling of something been stuck because of swelling of mucosa or lining of throat.
Need not to worry. It could be possible that sharp edge of chips injured the lining of throat. It will take day or two to get normal .
- Do warm saline gargles several times a day .
- Avoid eating hot and acidic food .
If condition doesn't get better in 24 hours or get worse the consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. doctor may examine it with fiberoptic scan and get it removed. Doctor may prescribe medicine like sucralfate along with antibiotics .
