How To Get Rid Of Dry And Itchy Bumps On Lips?

Two weeks ago, I started feeling a burning itch on the upper right side of my lip and the lower left side of my lip. I didn t see any bumps or scabs. Now I have extremely dry lips that still itch and burn...and I have developed a patch of bumps on the upper right and lower left lips. They re extremely dry and flaky. I ve been trying to get relief using olive oil and coconut oil to keep them hydrated. But they burn so bad and the bumps are uncomfortable. Help!!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I am sorry for the situation you are in .

A photograph of the bumps would help give a more precise answer.
However, from what you are describing, the bumps might be cold sores especially if you had flu symptoms.

If you can't send a photo, should consult with your physician to decide whether antiviral cream can heal the bumps.

Wish fast recovery!
